To Scan Citizens’ Fingerprints from a Smartphone Enables Law Enforcement by New Software
Telos is a famous contactless fingerprinting technology
company. It has developed a software that uses a smartphone’s camera to scan an
individual’s fingers from around 2 inches away and create a “traditional
fingerprint image”. The technology works that have as little as 2 megapixels’
camera.

Contactless fingerprinting maybe soon implemented by police departments across the U.S.
Civil liberty and privacy groups are worried about the imputation of the technology. They are arguing the biometric data collected by police-force will be used to further violate upon the freedom of citizens. Similar disagreements have been made about the facial recognition technology is being used by several governments around the world.

active users. The company is now straightening a new premium tier with
additional features. Telegram published an announcement saying the move will
